Red Books Day 2026: 100 Years With Fidel [Sydney]

February 22 at 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm
Free

Join us on Sunday 22, 2pm at Victoria Park (behind Carslaw building), Sydney for Red Books Day. This year we’ll be marking 100 years with Fidel with a reading and discussion group of the 1960 First Havana Declaration.

As the US escalates it’s brutal blockade upon Cuba and attempts to recolonise Latin America, ousting progressive governments and rolling back their reforms, the Havana Declaration is as pressing today as it was over six decades ago.

Through this text we will be discussing what sovereignty and national liberation mean in the age of monopoly capitalism, how the Cuban Revolution has sought to chart its own path to a humane and socialist society, how we can be in solidarity with Cuban and Latin American socialists here in the imperial core, and much, much more.

We hope to see you there!
