The Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine praises the steadfastness of the Islamic Republic of Iran in the face of zionist-American arrogance and criminality, and values its ability to overcome the loss of its leadership by selecting a wise leadership to continue the journey and preserve the trust. In this context, the Front extends its congratulations to the dear Iranian people on the selection of His Eminence Sayyed “Mojtaba Khamenei” as Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution.

The enemy has never once abided by a ceasefire agreement, and that is with the collusion of certain parties.

The government could not justify its flagrant failure except by hiding behind its response to the old “israeli” dream of disarming the resistance.

Throughout the past period, the enemy has not stopped its violations of sovereignty, its aggressions, and its blackmail of Lebanon to humiliate the authority and the Lebanese people.

We warned that our patience has limits, but no one lifted a finger, and they considered the lack of response an opportunity to pounce on the resistance.

The sudden zionist and American raids on March 1st, coinciding with the negotiation rounds, revealed that the goal was to kill Sayyed Khamenei and overthrow the regime.

The enemy aimed to force the resistance to submit, and what the resistance did by responding is a sign of the Lebanese people’s waning patience with the arrogance of the occupiers.

The resistance took the lead in warning against the aggression, nullified the element of surprise, and the data proved that there is no deterrent to aggression except through resistance.

The resistance is committed to defending Lebanon with the capabilities available to it.

Lebanon is faced with a choice between war and surrendering to the conditions the enemy wants, and we have no choice but to defend our existence, whatever the cost.

Together we will remain steadfast in our choice and our right, and we will defend every grain of our homeland’s soil; our goal is clear: expelling the enemy from our land and stopping its aggressions.

We must endure the malice and pain from our enemy, and we must be patient with those who wrong us among those we consider partners in our homeland.

The zionist occupation is committing horrific massacres against civilians in Gaza, where three women were martyred yesterday, including a journalist, and displaced persons’ tents were targeted.

The occupation is exploiting the world’s preoccupation with the aggression on Iran and Lebanon to escalate its attacks on the Gaza Strip, tighten the siege, and close the crossings, especially the Rafah crossing.

The occupation is benefiting from absolute American support to continue violating the ceasefire and committing more massacres against civilians.

We are approaching the thirtieth month of the genocidal war in Lebanon and Palestine waged by the Zionist entity under US auspices and with the absolute support of an international community complicit in our killing and attempted annihilation. In Palestine, Syria, and Lebanon, we are witnessing, before the eyes of the world, the expansion of the occupation in all its forms, while nations, including our own governments, collude in criminalizing the right of peoples to resist and determine their own destiny, instead of uniting to hold the occupation accountable and disarm it to overthrow and eradicate its expansionist, settler-colonial system. These practices are not limited to the Mashreq [Eastern Arab world – ed] alone; rather, they constitute a despotic pattern through which the hegemonic empire attempts to criminalise resistance and political liberation movements that oppose genocide and defend the land.

During the period falsely labeled a “ceasefire”—a unilateral agreement between Palestine and Lebanon that laid the groundwork for the expansion of the occupation—the Zionist entity launched over 15,000 air, land, and sea attacks against us in Lebanon, resulting in 397 martyrs and over 1,102 wounded. Meanwhile, under the dictates of the United States, the Lebanese government’s priorities were focused on attacking the families of resistance fighters, attempting to disarm them, and trying to impose laws that would deprive the people of their resources, heritage, and personal data, thus paving the way for multinational corporations, a key instrument of the occupation.

We mourn with deep sadness and sorrow our colleague, the martyred journalist Amal Shamali (46 years old), a correspondent for Radio Qatar, who ascended to the heavens following a treacherous bombing targeting the tents of displaced persons in the town of Al-Zawaida in the central Gaza Strip, at a time when the world celebrates “International Women’s Day” (March 8th), for the Palestinian journalist to offer her blood as a price for the free word and to write with her pain the highest meanings of sacrifice on her international day.

The martyrdom of our colleague Amal while performing her humanitarian and professional mission, and on this occasion specifically, is a double crime that disregards all international values and charters, and is a bloody message to silence the voice of truth represented by the Palestinian woman journalist in the field.

Targeting our colleague Amal on March 8th is a stab in the back of human and feminist rights and proof that the occupation places no weight on international occasions or international laws.

The continued targeting of journalists requires immediate international intervention to protect media crews, especially our female colleagues who face the dangers of displacement and direct targeting.

The Government Media Office condemns in the strongest terms the systematic targeting, killing, and assassination of Palestinian journalists by the “israeli” occupation. We call on the International Federation of Journalists, the Federation of Arab Journalists, and all journalistic bodies in all countries of the world to condemn these systematic crimes against Palestinian journalists and media personnel in the Gaza Strip.

We hold the “israeli” occupation, the US administration, and the countries participating in the crime of genocide, such as the United Kingdom, Germany, and France, fully responsible for committing these heinous and brutal crimes.

Israel expands gun licenses in occupied Jerusalem amid rising settler violence

Israeli National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir announced a major expansion of personal gun licenses in occupied Jerusalem, adding more than 300,000 settlers to the eligible list.

Ben-Gvir, leader of the terrorist Otzma Yehudit party, stated on social media platform X that 240,000 Israelis had already received gun permits since he took office in 2022.

He said the expansion covers 41 new settlements and 1,600 streets, claiming that increased gun ownership strengthens personal security and prepares settlers to “confront terrorist incidents.”

Rights groups condemned the move, saying it encourages violence against native Palestinians and escalates tensions in occupied areas.

Since the outbreak of the genocide in Gaza, Israeli forces and settlers have intensified attacks in the West Bank, killing 1,125 Palestinians, injuring nearly 11,700, and kidnapping roughly 22,000, according to official data.

Attacks also include the demolition of homes and infrastructure, forced displacement, and continued expansion of settlements in the West Bank and Jerusalem, which the international community considers occupied territory.

According to Haaretz, Israeli settler attacks on Palestinians in the West Bank rose 25% last year, reflecting a continuing surge in violence and heightened tensions in the region.

Gulf states crack down on documentation of war

The Bahraini government has arrested dozens of foreign workers following their documentation of explosions inside American bases.

The workers, who were present at the sites, are now facing prosecution and imprisonment by the authorities.

This crackdown by the Al-Khalifa regime comes after Bahraini-American air defense systems malfunctioned, resulting in direct strikes on residential buildings. Bahrain has also recruited the Gulf Cooperation Council Unified Military Command to suppress protests.

Bahrain prosecutors seek death penalty over photos in “prohibited locations”

Bahrain is seeking the death penalty for several citizens accused of “high treason” after allegedly photographing locations where images are prohibited following Iranian attacks. In court, prosecutors said the kingdom faces “brutal Iranian aggression,” declaring that “loyalty to the homeland is not an option that accepts negotiation” and calling for maximum penalties. The case comes as Bahraini authorities continue to blame Iran for damage from a strike in Sitra, where 32 civilians, including children, were injured after a Bahraini air-defense interceptor reportedly struck a residential area.

Over 300 arrested in Qatar for sharing footage of attacks

The Qatari authorities have arrested more than 300 people for sharing images and what they described as “misleading information” during days of attacks by Iran, the interior ministry said on March 9.

The arrests echo measures across the Gulf as Iran targets airports, military bases, energy installations and residential areas with daily drones and missiles.

Those arrested “filmed and circulated video clips and published misleading information and rumours that could stir public opinion”, a statement said.

People of “various nationalities” were held by the Department for Combating Economic and Cyber Crimes at the ministry’s General Directorate of Criminal Investigations.

The announcement follows a spate of arrests elsewhere in the region.

In Bahrain, four people were arrested for “filming and broadcasting clips about the effects of Iranian attacks and spreading false news”, the interior ministry said on March 6.

And in Kuwait, the authorities on March 7 said three people had been arrested over a video showing them mocking the situation in the country.

Syrian president vows ‘absolute support’ to disarm Hezbollah

Lebanese President Joseph Aoun received a phone call on 10 March from his Syrian counterpart, ex-Al-Qaeda chief Ahmad al-Sharaa, who expressed his support for Beirut’s efforts in disarming Hezbollah.

The Lebanese Presidency said Aoun and Sharaa discussed regional developments and stressed that “the current delicate situation requires activating coordination and consultation between the two countries, especially with regard to the need to control the borders and prevent any security breaches from any side.”

The Syrian Presidency also released its own statement on the call with Aoun. “President Sharaa expressed his explicit and absolute support for the efforts led by President Joseph Aoun to disarm ‘Hezbollah.’ He affirmed that this step is essential for solidifying Lebanese state sovereignty and shielding the region from the repercussions of ongoing regional armed conflicts,” the statement said.

It also called for “joint action” between Lebanon and Syria, “to ensure the safety of the Syrian and Lebanese peoples and to protect the gains of stability achieved recently.”

The phone call comes hours after Damascus claimed that it came under attack by Hezbollah on the Syrian–Lebanese border.

The Syrian army said “Hezbollah militias” fired shells toward its positions near Serghaya, adding that reinforcements from the Lebanese resistance group had been observed arriving along the Syrian–Lebanese border.

Syrian officials said they were monitoring the situation, coordinating with the Lebanese army, and studying possible responses, warning that the Syrian army “will not tolerate any attack targeting Syria.”

Hezbollah, which is busy fighting an Israeli invasion in the south, has not released any statements commenting on the matter.
