Red Spark’s Resistance Voices series shares statements and materials from the various factions of Palestinian, Lebanese and Iranian resistance to Israeli occupation and the US-Israel imperialist war of aggression against Iran and Lebanon. To counter the distortions and spin promoted by the Australian state – which is a supporter and ally of both Israel and the United States – the solidarity movement must understand the reality in Palestine, Iran and the region. This means being familiar with the political positions and perspectives of those on the ground.

Palestinian Land Day commemorates the events of March 30, 1976, when Israeli occupation authorities announced the confiscation of vast tracts of Palestinian land in the Galilee region.

In response, widespread strikes and protests erupted in several towns and villages, which were met with brutal force, resulting in the killing of six Palestinians and the injury and detention of hundreds.

Since then, the day has become a national symbol, embodying the connection of the Palestinians to their land and the rejection of its confiscation.

Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine

Oh masses of our steadfast Palestinian people in the arenas of confrontation and the diaspora,
Oh our people in steadfast Gaza, the struggling West Bank, and Al-Quds, the eternal capital,
Oh guardians of identity in the occupied interior, and pillars of steadfastness in the refugee camps,
And oh free people of our Arab nation and all the free people of the world…

The 50th anniversary of Palestinian Land Day is upon us; that pivotal struggle station which was baptized with the blood of the martyrs of Arraba, Sakhnin, Kafr Kanna, Umm al-Fahm, the Triangle, and the Galilee in 1976, embodying the highest meanings of sacrifice in a continuous existential conflict. This day confirms that land is the essence of identity and the source of dignity, and that our people, extending from the sea to the river, are an indivisible unit and an unbreakable will. Land Day formed a moment of fracture for projects of dissolution and “israel”ization, and established the reality of our people’s rootedness in their land and their adherence to their rights, despite all attempts at uprooting and fragmentation over five decades of continuous struggle.

Masses of our people… sons of our nation… free people of the world,

This anniversary comes in light of a highly dangerous phase, in which the pace of comprehensive aggression against our people is escalating. Its features are manifested in the continuation of the war of annihilation on the Gaza Strip in its comprehensive form, where our people in the Gaza Strip are being subjected to systematic aggression targeting their existence, through continued violations, killing, destruction, starvation, and blockade, and the continuation of settlement expansion, creeping annexation, and the crimes of the settlers, through policies aimed at imposing field realities in the West Bank and Al-Quds, deepening the annexation project and undermining any possibility for the establishment of an independent national entity. This is occurring simultaneously with a comprehensive aggression targeting Lebanon, and an American-zionist war on Iran, in the context of schemes aimed at reconfiguring the region to achieve what is called greater “israel”.

We in the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine, as we recall the martyrs of the immortal Land Day and all the martyrs of our people, confirm the following:

  1. The unity of the land, the people, and the national identity is the solid pillar of our steadfastness, and the rock upon which all projects of division and fragmentation break; the land will remain the central arena of engagement, and the title of existence that does not accept compromise on a single grain of its soil.

  2. Resistance is a strategic option, as experience has proven that resistance, in all its forms, is the legitimate path to wresting rights and thwarting the liquidation schemes that target our people and our region.

  3. The grave violations to which the prisoners are subjected are a crime that requires international accountability, and we confirm that their freedom is a national priority that does not accept compromise. We also consider the “prisoner execution law” a war crime that requires the immediate internationalization of the file, and we warn against harming the prisoners and the repercussions of its implementation, demanding that the occupation leaders be held accountable before the International Criminal Court.

  4. Al-Quds will remain the major compass of the struggle, and the continued closure of Al-Aqsa Mosque and the aggression against its sanctities is “playing with fire” and a fascist escalation for which the occupation bears full responsibility. We call on our nation and the free people of the world to support our people in Al-Quds financially and in the field, and to curb this zionist terrorism that targets the identity of the city and its Arab existence.

  5. We call on the masses of our people to strengthen their unity, solidarity, and mutual support. We also call on the free people of the world to continue their support for our just struggle and to work towards ending the injustice inflicted upon our people.

  6. We demand the activation of international solidarity and its transformation into a real force of pressure to stop the crimes of American and zionist aggression and their plots in Palestine and the region.

O masses of our steadfast people

The occasion of Land Day, in its fiftieth anniversary, is a renewed pledge to uphold national rights and to continue the struggle until achieving freedom and return. It is an affirmation that our compass will remain fixed towards every inch of our land, and that the will of our people is stronger than all attempts to break it.

Glory and immortality to the martyrs.
Freedom to the prisoners.
Healing to the wounded.
And we remain on the pledge of the land.

In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.

In the 50th anniversary of the immortal Land Day.

Palestine’s land will remain the compass of the nation and the free people of the world in the battle for Palestinian rights in the face of zionist injustice. Land Day is a message to the zionist usurpers that we are here, remaining like the olives of Al-Jalil, the rocks of Al-Karmel, the oranges of Yaffa, and the sea of Gaza and its resistance. We renew the pledge to our people, our martyrs, our prisoners, and our female prisoners to continue the path of jihad and resistance until victory and empowerment, so that Palestine and its sanctities may return free from the river to the sea.

On Land Day, we confirm that resistance in all its forms is a sacred and legitimate right to defend this eternal, historical right. We will not retreat from it in the face of zionist-American and Western schemes that seek to liquidate our cause, displace our people, erase our identity, and change the landmarks of our land.

We emphasize that the Mladenov plan to disarm the resistance is a cunning and malicious plan, and it has nothing to do with a ceasefire agreement. He is trying to provide a personal service to the zionist entity at the expense of our people’s suffering, to reach through politics and blackmail what the enemy could not achieve in war, stripping our people of their means of self-defense under a misleading humanitarian and political cover. Thus, Mladenov has lost objectivity and credibility, which makes his plan worthless.

We say it here loudly and without equivocation: the resistance’s weapons are an exclusive right of the Palestinian people and are a natural result of the existence of the occupation and aggression. Any proposal to disarm it contributes practically to opening the way for the zionist enemy to escalate policies of killing and genocide without deterrence, which poses an existential threat to our Palestinian people.

On Land Day, we emphasize that through national unity we can confront the crimes of genocide and the schemes of displacement and uprooting. Our struggle with the zionist enemy requires unifying the ranks, rejecting division and differences, and moving forward toward a true national unity that places the interest of Palestine and our people above any consideration.

The great epic led by the Islamic Republic of Iran in confronting the zionist and American arrogant powers, in which the resistance forces and their axis in Iran, Lebanon, Iraq, Yemen, and Palestine have proven that it is a fateful war on whose results the future of the region, the nation, and Palestine will be determined. The victory of the axis of jihad and resistance is a victory for Palestine and glory for the nation and Muslims, and it will draw the map of the demise of the zionist entity, God willing.

Democratic Front for the Liberation of Palestine

On the national Land Day (30/03), the Democratic Front for the Liberation of Palestine issued a statement saying: The “Land” is what unites us, and will and resistance are what liberate us. Our struggle journey, with all its honorable manifestations and scenes, is moving forward, regardless of the difficulties and sacrifices, and whatever the suffering. The victories our people have achieved in their struggle path for more than 100 years confirm that their will is stronger than the alternative projects and plans, and that their sacrifices create our heroic history, and strengthen the international community’s alignment with our cause and its recognition of our right to freedom, self-determination, independence, and return.

It added: This year, we celebrate the immortal anniversary of “Land Day,” and we turn our faces toward our people in the 1948 territories, who created a legend of steadfastness that brought down all projects of Judaization and dissolution, preserved the struggle history of our people, and returned the cause to its foundation: it is a struggle for the land and for defending it against all projects of confiscation, looting, settlement, annexation, and the erasure of our people’s civilized history.

It affirmed that the ongoing conflict in the West Bank, ever since the first occupation invasion in 1967, is about the land, defending it, thwarting the projects of confiscating and annexing it, and struggling to retrieve it from the clutches of “israeli” fascism.

As for the Gaza Strip, where our people created an amazing history of steadfastness that astonished the world and provoked its admiration, the struggles and the fusion between the resistance and the people proved that the land will remain Palestinian, and that the occupation is destined to end, whatever its fascist attempts to turn the yellow line into a new border for the Gaza Strip.

It emphasized that steadfastness is not a constant given, but the fruit of numerous efforts and factors, the most important of which are framing the people, organizing their forces, providing the elements and necessities for their steadfastness, and arming them with a struggle strategy that unites them and their struggle using all available methods in the field and politics, under a unified national leadership that includes everyone according to the principles of partnership and democratic relations, far from policies of isolation, monopolizing decisions, and reliance on external promises and conditions.

It said in the same context: While we are living through extremely turbulent regional conditions in the shadow of the American-“israeli” war on the Islamic Republic of Iran and on Lebanon, and in light of blatant attempts by the American-“israeli” coalition to expand the circle of fire to reach brotherly Arab countries that have no stake in this war, our cause stands at a dangerous crossroads, especially in light of the danger of the absence of Palestinian national institutions and attempts to drag our people into a destructive regional project that serves only Washington and “Tel Aviv”… it calls for moving away from the state of political confusion and transitioning to practical, effective, and influential policies, the first of which is conducting the broadest comprehensive national dialogue to draw up our Palestinian national position on the course of events, and their reflection specifically on the Gaza Strip, and preparing for a national conference in the West Bank to draw up a strategy to confront annexation and Judaization projects, especially in the city of Al-Quds, where indicators of the dangers threatening the Al-Aqsa Mosque and national sanctities appear extremely clear.

It also called for drawing up a clear national strategy regarding the fate of the UNRWA, especially in light of the mass displacement of our people in the camps of southern Lebanon and the southern suburb, in the face of the risks of the fascist “israeli” aggression.

It concluded: “Land Day” will remain immortal, having been baptized in blood for more than 100 years, and the land will remain Palestinian.

Hamas

In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.

On the 50th Anniversary of Land Day: Our people are rooted in their land, and will remain steadfast and defend it by all means, until all their rights are wrested back, and their aspirations for liberation and return are achieved.

The 50th anniversary of the immortal Land Day comes this year, after more than two years of a war of extermination, starvation, ethnic cleansing, and attempts at forced displacement, to which our people in the Gaza Strip have been subjected. Its dangerous repercussions still encompass all facets of human life there, and in light of the fascist “israeli” occupation government’s escalation of settlement crimes, annexation, Judaization, and displacement in the West Bank and occupied Al-Quds, and the continued closure of the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque, and its grave violations against prisoners, in an aggression and criminality that reveals the nature of this zionist enemy, which violates all international norms, charters, and divine laws, and has become a real danger to the security and stability of the region and the world.

Our people recall this immortal anniversary, on the 30th of March of every year, to remember the spark ignited in 1976 by the masses of our people in the Triangle, the Galilee, and the Naqab in our lands occupied in 1948, in response to the policy of settlement encroachment, and in resistance to the occupation’s policy of displacement and deportation, for this anniversary to become a collective national title for strengthening unity, struggle, and resistance, and a landmark from which generations draw the spirit of sacrifice, challenge, and insistence on holding onto the land and confronting aggression, until the occupation is defeated and removed from our land.

On the fiftieth anniversary of Land Day, we pray for the souls of our righteous martyrs, ask Allah Almighty for healing for our blessed wounded, send a greeting of loyalty to our free prisoners, and salute our great, patient, and steadfast people in the Gaza Strip, in the West Bank, Al-Quds, the occupied interior, and in refugee camps and the diaspora. We send a message of pride and honor to all those stationed on the frontiers of the homeland and those steadfast on their land, and we promise them to continue the path of adhering to the constants and defending our land and our sanctities until their liberation and the achievement of the return to them.

We emphasize the following:

  • The crimes of the zionist enemy against our people, our land, and our Islamic and Christian sanctities will not fall by lapse of time, and will not prove any right or legitimacy for it, and at the same time will not break the will of our people or dissuade them from continuing the path of struggle, steadfastness, and adherence to rights and constants.

  • Empowering our people to hold onto their land, live in it with freedom and independence, and defend it by all means, is not a favor from anyone, but is a legitimate right guaranteed by international charters to get rid of the most dangerous, criminal, settler-colonial occupation continuing in the world.

  • The occupation’s plans, crimes of land theft, settlement encroachment, and the displacement of our people will not succeed in changing the facts of history and reality, and obliterating the features of the Palestinian land.

  • We reiterate that we will not relinquish or concede a single inch of the land of Palestine, and our people will remain steadfast and defending it by all means, until all their rights are wrested back, and their aspirations for liberation and return are achieved.

  • The city of Al-Quds and the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque were and will remain the jewel in the crown of our blessed historical land, and the occupation will have no sovereignty or legitimacy over any part of it, and we will protect and defend them, no matter the sacrifices.

  • The return of refugees to their land from which they were forcibly displaced by the zionist occupation is an individual and collective right and duty, which no one has the right to concede or relinquish, and we reiterate our categorical rejection of all resettlement and alternative homeland projects.

  • We reiterate our call to our Arab and Islamic nation to unite and stand together to confront and thwart all the colonial plans and goals of the zionist entity that go beyond the borders of Palestine, and threaten the security, stability, and unity of our nation.

  • We call on the free people of the world to strengthen all forms of solidarity and support for the just cause of our people and their legitimate struggle, to isolate the racist, fascist zionist entity, to criminalize its terrorism, and to prosecute its leaders, leading to ending the occupation, and enabling our people to have freedom, independence, self-determination, and the establishment of an independent Palestinian state with Al-Quds as its capital.

  • Mercy to the martyrs, speedy healing to the wounded, and near freedom for the prisoners and detainees, and it is a Jihad of victory or martyrdom.

Ahrar Movement

Press Statement issued by the Palestinian Ahrar Movement on the 50th anniversary of Land Day.

The 50th anniversary of Land Day passes us by, a day in which our Palestinian people embodied the highest meanings of steadfastness, sacrifice, and adherence to their land and resources. It was a true turning point in the struggle of our people, their components, and their forces against the zionist occupier, as they proved the extent of their determination to confront the occupier despite the scarcity of capabilities and means, to confirm to the whole world that they are the true owners of the land, and to demolish the saying that “the grandparents die and the grandchildren forget.” On this national occasion, we affirm:

Land Day is a message to the entire world through which our Palestinian people confirm the extent of their adherence to their land, rights, and national constants, foremost of which is the right of return and ending the refugee issue.

Land Day is not a passing memory, but a day in which pure, righteous blood was shed in defense of the soil of Palestine, and a declaration to the occupier that there is a people who are the owners of the land and deserve to live on it.

We call upon the masses of our Palestinian people in the West Bank, Al-Quds, and the territories of ’48 on this national anniversary to ignite a large and widespread national movement, affirming the unity of our people’s land and geography from Naqoura in the north to Umm Al-Rashrash in the south, and from its river in the east to its sea in the west. The occupation will not enjoy its settlements or its systematic encroachment on citizens’ lands, and it will not succeed in stealing or buying them, and they will remain protected in the custody of their people from the Palestinian nation until they are liberated from the filth of the zionist Jews.

Palestinian Mujahideen Movement

We live today the fiftieth anniversary of Land Day, in which our people embodied the highest meanings of steadfastness and attachment to their land, offering a number of righteous martyrs, the wounded, and heroic detainees, while our people face an open zionist war targeting their land and existence, in which our people have offered thousands of martyrs, wounded, and prisoners, emphasizing their path in confronting the occupation despite the immense sacrifices.

On this national anniversary, we in the Palestinian Mujahideen Movement affirm the following:

We affirm that there is no legitimacy for the zionist entity on the land of Palestine, and that the right of resistance is a fixed and original right until this occupation is swept away from all our land.

The projects of displacement, destruction, and demographic change practiced by the zionist occupation in Gaza and the West Bank, and the continuous assaults on the Al-Aqsa Mosque and prisoners, are an extension of the open war on our people, which aims to uproot them from their blessed land.

The zionist entity is a real threat to our entire nation and the countries of the region, and it represents the spearhead of an expansionist colonial project targeting Palestine and the entire region.

We call upon our people, especially in Al-Quds, the West Bank, and the interior, to escalate all forms of confrontation and unite the ranks to confront the occupation’s plans and defend the land and sanctities. We also demand our nation to restore its role in the confrontation, close ranks, and overcome the state of helplessness and silence, for the zionist entity will not be curbed and deterred from its plans except by force and unity.

Palestinian Prisoners’ Club

The 50th Anniversary of the Eternal Land Day: More than 9,500 Palestinian and Arab prisoners are in the prisons and camps of the “israeli” occupation.

The fiftieth anniversary of the Eternal Land Day this year coincides with the occupation’s efforts to pass a law for the execution of prisoners; a law that embodies one of the most brutal tools of the colonial system in targeting the Palestinian existence, within the context of the systematic genocide, of which the prisons have become one of the main battlefields.

On this eternal anniversary, our people’s firm message is renewed to continue their legitimate struggle, extract their freedom, and determine their destiny by their own will; this comes at a stage that is the most dangerous for their destiny everywhere they exist, as the occupation system continues its extermination in multiple and escalating forms, manifested in the systematic escalation of settlement and displacement operations, and in the deliberate killing of unarmed citizens.

We point out that more than 9,500 Palestinian and Arab prisoners are languishing in the prisons and camps of the “israeli” occupation, against whom another aspect of extermination is being practiced, represented in the system of systematic torture taking place inside those prisons and camps; which has led to the martyrdom of more than one hundred prisoners, eighty-nine of whom were officially announced in the aftermath of the genocide.

Freedom for Palestine!
