We publish below the greetings received and warmly accepted by Red Spark’s Second National Conference from the Embassy of the Republic of Cuba in Australia. Red Spark remains committed to organising in Australia in solidarity with the Cuban people and their revolutionary project.

Dear friends of Red Spark Australia,

On behalf of the Government and People of the Republic of Cuba, we extend our warmest greetings on the occasion of the Red Spark National Conference, a space that continues to strengthen solidarity, critical debate, and collective commitment to justice.

We deeply appreciate your active participation in solidarity marches, your firm denunciations of the U.S. blockade, and your continuous efforts to give visibility to Cuba’s reality through public events, media engagement, and community outreach. Your work helps ensure that the truth about Cuba reaches broader audiences, especially in moments of intensified hostility against our country.

We also wish to acknowledge your important work in promoting and disseminating the thought and legacy of Commander in Chief Fidel Castro, particularly in this year marking the centenary of his birth. The inclusion of sessions such as “Fidel Castro at 100” in your conference program reflects a profound commitment to studying and projecting his ideas of sovereignty, anti‑imperialism, and humanist conviction. 

We further value the initiative shown by members of Red Spark to print, share, and circulate Fidel’s speeches as part of their efforts to promote his legacy within Australian society, particularly among young people, where such engagement contributes meaningfully to keeping his ideas alive and relevant.

We express our sincere gratitude for your recent note of solidarity condemning the unjust sanctions imposed on ICAP and Amistur. Your principled stance reaffirms the value of international friendship and strengthens the moral force of our shared struggle.

The program of your conference—addressing global crises, imperialism, solidarity movements, and the future of socialism—demonstrates once again the seriousness and commitment with which Red Spark approaches internationalist work. 

As you know, the hostile policy of the United States against Cuba continues to intensify, including the economic, commercial, and financial blockade that has been imposed for more than 60 years, the tightening of the energy siege, and even renewed threats of military aggression. Most recently, on 13 July, new sanctions were approved, further escalating this unilateral pressure. In this context, public denunciations, statements, and expressions of solidarity against such actions are increasingly necessary and carry great weight.

Cuba has not ceased—and will never cease—to defend with absolute firmness its independence, sovereignty, and its right to choose its own political, economic, and social system. Our people remain prepared to resist and to prevail, as we have done for more than six decades. In this struggle, the solidarity, affection, and shared commitment to justice and dignity from friends like you are our greatest strength.

Thank you for reminding us that “Cuba is not alone.”
